The City of the Village of Clarkston is a charming community while situated in the middle of a bustling suburban area.   The City of the Village of Clarkston hosts a community of welcoming and kind families.

In the mid 1970's, the Village of Clarkston along with its historic buildings and homes was almost lost.  The State of Michigan had plans to widen Main Street to at least 4 lanes.  This plan would have caused many of the historic homes and buildings to be moved or torn down.  As a result, the community worked together to have it designated a National Historic Site!
